Transfer Credit Agreements
with Wichita State University
INTRODUCTION
Many schools have expressed an interest in pursuing a "2+2" (or "3+1") relationship with Wichita State. In a 2+2 relationship, a student would study two years at your school and then transfer to Wichita State to complete their final two years. In order to determine if this type of agreement is possible, we must first conduct a thorough transfer credit evaluation. Please provide the items below so that we can begin our evaluation:
STEP 1 -- PROVIDE SYLLABI FOR CLASSES THAT YOU WOULD LIKE US TO EVALUATE
Because of the differences between the educational system in your country and the
American system, we must have syllabi (in English) for all classes that students would
like to transfer to Wichita State University. The syllabi should include as much detailed
information as possible about the material studied in each subject as well as the
amount of time spent in lectures and laboratories. Syllabus Example
STEP 2 -- SEND US A TYPICAL TRANSCRIPT FROM YOUR SCHOOL
Transcripts or marksheets list the classes a person studied as well as the grades received in each of those classes. It is helpful for us to have a typical transcript from your school. The transcript needs to be in English.
STEP 3 -- PROVIDE YOUR SCHOOL CALENDAR
It is always helpful to know the months in which classes normally begin and end at your school. To help with our transfer credit review, please provide us with your school's academic calendar.
STEP 4 -- HOW LONG IT TAKES TO COMPLETE A DEGREE AT YOUR SCHOOL?
Depending on the school, a typical diploma or degree may take two, three, four, or even five years to complete. Please let us know how long it typically takes for a student to complete a diploma/degree at your school for the program you would like us to evaluate.
STEP 5 -- WHAT MAJORS WILL YOUR STUDENTS TYPICALLY STUDY AT WSU?
Wichita State University offers more than 200 different majors and specializations. In order to conduct a transfer credit review, however, we will need to know 15-20
majors that your students would typically want to pursue at Wichita State. Our review
will give you specific information on how long it will take for your students to graduate
in each of those majors.
STEP 6 -- SEND THE ABOVE INFORMATION TO WICHITA STATE UNIVERSITY
Please send the above items to Ms. Michelle Barger at michelle.barger@wichita.edu
