Get-into-Wichita-State Checklist

While it's impossible to pack everything that's good about Wichita State into one tiny guide, we've attempted to highlight some things about WSU that you, as a high school junior, might find useful — including a checklist of everything you'll need to go from high school grad to a Wichita State Shocker.

  • Take the ACT in the spring of your junior year and request your score be sent to Wichita State.
  • Request an unofficial copy of your transcript following your junior year. We'll use your transcript to enter your grades and test scores into the admission application.
  • Apply for admission to WSU on July 1 before your senior year at wichita.edu/apply.

To be admitted to WSU, you must meet the following:

Complete the pre-college curriculum with at least a 2.00 GPA (2.50 for nonresidents) AND achieve ONE of the following:

  • ACT composite score of 21 or higher; OR
  • SAT composite score of 1060 or higher; OR
  • Graduate in the top one-third of your class

Additional opportunities for admission are available for all students and are offered on a case-by-case basis. For consideration, complete and submit the academic profile section of the admission application.
