Aerospace Engineering at Wichita State

Aerspace Students Stand in Jet Engine

You may know Wichita is considered the air capital of the world. You may know nearly every major aviation company including from Airbus to Spirit AeroSystems to Textron Aviation all have production or engineering facilities in Wichita. You probably know that Wichita State has an aerospace engineering  program that has graduated thousands of engineers that work in those companies. You may not know, though, that Wichita State’s program is ranked first among ALL United States universities in industry-funded aerospace research and development, according to the National Science Foundation. That’s right, Wichita State is ranked ahead of other schools that you may have heard of such as MIT, Texas A&M and Purdue.

WSU’s strong aerospace program represents just one example of our outstanding academics, second-to-none facilities and talented faculty. We’re proud of the limitless hands-on learning opportunities our students have and look forward to telling you more about them. You can view a quick video of one of our sky-diving aerospace engineering majors below.

The strength of our aerospace engineering programs may be one of the worst-kept secrets around and as you might guess, we’re okay with that.
