Humans of Wichita State - Wambi

Wambi on the WSU campus

Wambi is a Criminal Justice major from Dallas, Texas. Since coming to Wichita State, she has made the most of her time being involved in various activities. Wambi has been involved in over 15 offices and organizations since her freshman year; including her dance group, Kversity.

"I have made the most of my time in every commitment I have had," Wambi said. "I keep in touch with people I met at my orientation and many others along the way which contributes to my overall Wichita State experience."

Wambi said that Wichita State has impacted her greatly by giving her the space to be independent.

"Wichita State has given me resources to utilize whenever I need them. I have been able to spend my years in college learning how to manage life outside of my household and how to manage my responsibilities."

The people that have changed Wambi's life the most while at Wichita State are her friends and professors, including Dr. Michael Birzer in the Criminal Justice department.

"Dr. Birzer was always eager to answer any questions that I had and was very understanding of things going on in my life," Wambi said.

"I have had a wonderful time at Wichita State because of the number of connections and the friends I have made. The people make up this community, and I am thankful for how much they have contributed to my experience here."
