Greek Life - A Path to Leadership and Involvement at Wichita State

Determining how to get involved in college can be a challenge—especially with the large number of incredible student organizations on campus! Joining Fraternity and Sorority Life is a just one way to get involved and make connections that last far beyond college.

At Wichita State, we are lucky to have four different Greek Councils:

  • Interfraternity Council (IFC)
  • Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)
  • National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)
  • Panhellenic Council (PC)

Fraternity and Sorority Life values academics, leadership, service, and connection. Our four councils have unique qualities and events that allows each to stand out. Yet, we work to share common ground on ideas and activities that unite us as a community. Our brothers and sisters within our chapters hold a special value and connection, but it is the support of the entire Greek community that keeps us moving forward.

I am grateful to be a part of the Panhellenic Council. In 2019, I went through Panhellenic Fall Primary Recruitment and joined a chapter that I connected with from day one. In my chapter alone I’ve gained sisterhood, leadership development, awards and recognitions, community service opportunities, and more. My sisters are my anchor in times of trouble and a champion in my absence. I know that any time I walk into our chapter house, there will be a community of women there to support me. Joining a sorority at Wichita State has been one of the most impactful decisions of my college career!

This year I got the opportunity to serve as the Vice President of Recruitment for our Panhellenic Executive Council. In this position I help plan, organize and lead our fall recruitment processes for all five PC chapters. While it is challenging at times, this position encourages me to step out of my comfort zone, work diligently, collaborate effectively and challenge the status quo. Getting to know and work with other women in our council has been such a rewarding experience. I have close friends in every chapter, and I know there is always a PC sister that will have my back.

Fraternity and Sorority Life is more than just fun t-shirts, social events, meetings and Greek letters. It is about support, philanthropy, service, academic excellence, leadership development, lifelong connections and more. Going Greek at Wichita State is one opportunity you don’t want to miss—because it just might change your life for the better!
