Wichita State's ZeeMee community is dedicated to helping prospective students build relationships with peers before setting foot on campus, including helping students find a roommate!
The roommate quiz inside the app allows students to describe themselves and what they're looking for in an ideal roommate. Following the quiz, students are shown potential roommate matches.
Freshman Adrian Goff describes the experience using the roommate feature.
"I was searching for roommates, so I decided to look at ZeeMee," Goff said. "I was mostly looking at people that answered similarly to the roommate quiz, but also at their bio to see if we could get along. I reached out to a couple people and had a few reach out to me, and we ended up forming a group chat. Then, we attended some of the same WSU events together so we could see if we meshed, and we all got along really well-- now my roommates are my best friends!"
Here are a few easy steps to using the roommate feature:
1. Join our community
Download the ZeeMee app and make sure to join Wichita State's ZeeMee community. After that, you can create your own profile. Upload a profile pic, write a quick bio, add up to 20 interests and include your hometown, major and social media handles. You also have the option to include photos and videos on your feed and post "Fun Fact" answers.
2. Quiz Time
Take the quick ZeeMee roommate matching quiz to determine your compatibility with other ZeeMee users who have taken the quiz. Be truthful about your habits to maximize the success of the quiz.
3. Get Matched
After you take the quiz, your "matches" will pop up. This screen allows you to choose people based on your ideal roommate descriptors. Click on their profiles and direct message them to get to know them better! Additionally, there are plenty of virtual events offered to allow students to get to know each other.
