Have you ever wondered about the warm smiles greeting you at admissions events? Chances are, you've met a member of the Student Ambassador Society (SAS). Established in 1995, SAS is made up of dedicated Wichita State students who generously volunteer their time to support the Office of Admissions.

Over the years, SAS has become known for its service to the university, boasting a proud legacy of thousands of members who have left their mark on the university and beyond. From accomplished lawyers and doctors to educators, engineers, performers, healthcare professionals and business leaders, SAS alumni continue to embody the spirit of loyalty and commitment to Wichita State and the wider community.

What exactly does the Student Ambassador Society do?

Throughout the academic year, SAS actively participates in many on- and off-campus admissions events. From hosting student panels to mingling with prospective students and families, tabling, and providing personalized outreach, SAS members play a pivotal role in welcoming and guiding future Shockers on their journey to Wichita State.

Additionally, SAS plans and coordinates several events and initiatives annually. From organizing the SAS Leadership Conference to managing the endowed Amie Montgomery scholarship and organizing Gore Core – a celebratory event honoring top students competing in the Distinguished Scholarship Invitational – SAS continuously seeks to share its Shocker spirit.
