Promoting Academic Student Success (PASS), the Student Ambassadors Society, Honors Ambassador, Honors Student Council and Gore Scholars.

Why did you choose Wichita State University?
I chose Wichita State for a couple of different reasons. The first and largest reason was my access to scholarships through the university. Another reason was that I really loved the support I received from professors and staff members alike. I also liked the distance from home, being only about two hours, allowed me to learn independence while not being isolated from my family.

How did being involved with the Student Ambassador Society impact your time at WSU?
It has been a great opportunity for me to give back to the university and to connect with prospective students. It also gave me a community of like-minded students that has been an honor to be a part of.

Which Wichita State faculty or staff member impacted you the most during your time here?
Dr. Chelsea Redger-Marquardt has been a great part of my support system throughout the last couple of years.

How do you feel about graduating?
I’m overwhelmed with several different emotions whether that be excitement, a little bit of anxiety, and so much pride. I’m also really looking forward to the future.

Which experience at Wichita State challenged you the most and what did you take away from that challenge?
Writing a thesis has really been the most challenging and rewarding process I have done throughout my college experience. I’ve learned a lot about the research process and about myself and I’m proud of the product I have created. I am so grateful for the support Dr. Heidi VanRavenhorst-Bell has provided to me through all phases of the project.

What are your post-grad plans?
Physical Therapy Assistant Program at Washburn University.

What advice would you give to incoming students?
College is the time to find yourself and create who you want to be. Take advantage of all of the courses, organizations, clubs and so much more with that goal in mind. Network and connect with faculty, students and professors alike, who will be the safety net you will lean on along the way. Lastly, enjoy it as it will go by in the blink of an eye if you let it.
