Degree received
Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Pre-Medical track.

Which organizations were you involved in?
The Student Ambassador Society, Ambassador for Diversity and Inclusion and Premedical Student Association.

Why did you choose Wichita State University?
I chose Wichita State for its location, tuition, and friendly environment. Since I am planning to go to medical school, I avoided student loans with WSU’s tuition and scholarships.

How did being involved with the Student Ambassador Society impact your time at WSU?
I was able to meet lots of people from various backgrounds and make new friends as a freshman!

Which Wichita State faculty or staff member impacted you the most during your time here?
My research professors made the most impact on me. I was in an organic chemistry lab, in which my professor gave me a project to present on. I later transferred to a biology lab, where I led my own project.

How do you feel about graduating?
It’s bittersweet. I am excited to be done with my bachelor's, but I will miss the college experience!

Which experience at Wichita State challenged you the most and what did you take away from that challenge?
Balancing my coursework, medical job, research and volunteering was the most difficult for me. It taught me how to make time for myself while also doing my responsibilities.

What are your post-grad plans?
Medical school!

What advice would you give to incoming students?
Ask for help when you need it! There are various organizations on campus to provide support, whether it’s health-wise or through classes.
