In honor of National French Fry Day, celebrated on the second Friday in July, we asked our admissions staff to share their favorite places to grab fries around Wichita. Here’s our list that's guaranteed to leave you craving something crispy, salty and delicious.

These local favorites all received multiple votes from our team, making them some of the best places in the ICT to satisfy your next fry craving.

Dempsey's Burger Pub

Whether you're already a truffle fry fan or have never tried them before, Dempsey's truffle fries belong on your must-try list. Tossed in truffle oil and topped with Parmesan cheese and parsley, they strike the perfect balance of crispy edges and soft, flavorful centers. Better yet, each order comes with generous portions and the option to choose up to five different dipping sauces. Our staff favorites are the garlic aioli and sriracha aioli.

While the truffle fries are the star of the show, don't overlook Dempsey's duck fat fries or sweet potato fries—they're just as worthy of a try.

Five Guys

Five Guys is known for their tasty fries. Offering both classic hand-cut fries or the Cajun-seasoned version if you like a little extra kick. Our team described them as perfectly salty, satisfyingly greasy, and generously portioned. Don't be surprised when your fry cup overflows into the bag with plenty of extras.

Fizz Burgers & Bottles

Fizz serves up both classic fries and sweet potato fries, but what really sets them apart is the impressive selection of dipping sauces. No matter which fry you choose, there's a sauce to match your taste.

The Flying Stove Food Truck

Another favorite for truffle fry lovers is The Flying Stove. Their fries deliver the perfect blend of crispy texture, savory seasoning, and rich truffle flavor. Pair them with one of their burgers or sandwiches for a meal you won't regret.

Honorable Mentions

Barn'rds

Perfectly crispy and well-seasoned, Barn'rds fries are a local favorite. Our team's pro tip? Order a cup of potato soup and dip your fries in it. Trust us on this one.

Oasis Lounge

If hand-cut fries are your go-to, Oasis deserves a spot on your list. Their fresh-cut fries deliver classic flavor and texture done right.

Small Sliders

Small Sliders puts a fun twist on the traditional fry with seasoned waffle fries that remind us of curly fries. Be sure to add a side of queso for dipping.

Spangles

Looking to switch things up? Spangles offers several seasonings for its fries. One of our favorites is salt and vinegar seasoning.

Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux

If loaded fries are more your style, get yourself to Walk-On's. Their waffle fries come topped with melted cheese, crispy bacon, banana peppers, and a side of house-made ranch that's perfect for dipping.

Whether you're celebrating National French Fry Day or simply looking for your next favorite side dish, these Wichita restaurants have you covered.
