Major
Computer Engineering
Why I chose my major
I chose Computer Engineering because I wanted to understand how systems work at both
the hardware and software levels. I was always curious about what happens underneath
applications and how performance and efficiency are actually engineered. What I enjoy
most is solving problems that require both logic and creativity, especially when optimizing
systems to work better over time.
Involvement
I serve as an Honors College Ambassador and a Student Ambassador for the Student Ambassador
Society, where I help represent the university and connect with prospective students.
I am also a Software Engineer at NetApp while completing my degree. In addition, I
am involved with St. Paul Catholic Church on campus and previously served as an ACE
Engineering mentor.
Why I chose Wichita State
I chose Wichita State because it offers strong engineering programs while still providing
a hands-on, practical learning environment. I wanted a university where I could gain
real experience alongside coursework. Wichita State’s connections to local industry
and internship opportunities made it a strong fit for my goals.
Favorite thing about WSU
My favorite thing about Wichita State is the balance between academics and applied
experience. Professors focus on practical understanding, not just theory, and that
has helped me grow technically. I also appreciate the opportunities to work with companies
while still being a student.
