The Shocker County Scholarship was established to support Wichita State students who are originally from the Barton, Cowley, Harvey, McPherson, Montgomery, Pratt, Reno and Saline counties. The scholarship is funded by Wichita State Alumni and Supporters from those counties, and overseen by the Wichita State Foundation.
This scholarship will award up to $1,000 to students chosen by the selection committee. The awards will be one-time scholarships distributed over the 2024-2025 academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must enroll at WSU for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.
- Applicants must have attended high school or community college in one of the following
Kansas counties:
- Barton, Cowley, Harvey, McPherson, Montgomery, Pratt, Reno or Saline.
- Demonstrate financial need through completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For students ineligible to complete a FAFSA, please submit a statement of financial need on the scholarship application.
Deadline
Applicants must complete and submit their application by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024. Selected recipients will be contacted by late May.
