The Shocker County Scholarship was established to support Wichita State students who
are originally from the Pratt, Barton, McPherson, Reno, Harvey and Montgomery counties. The scholarship is funded by Wichita State Alumni and Supporters from those
counties, and overseen by the Wichita State Foundation.
This scholarship will award up to $1,000 to students chosen by the selection committee. The awards will be one-time scholarships distributed over the 2026-2027 academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must enroll at WSU for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
- Applicants must have attended high school or community college in one of the following
Kansas counties:
- Pratt, Barton, McPherson, Reno, Harvey and Montgomery
- Demonstrate financial need through completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For students ineligible to complete a FAFSA, please submit a statement of financial need on the scholarship application.
Deadline
Applicants must complete and submit their application by 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Selected recipients will be contacted by late May.
