Is WSU a good fit for out-of-state students?
I am glad I left my state and became a Shocker, and I truly feel like WSU is my home
away from home. WSU has many programs and resources to make out-of-state students
feel welcome. I even had a mentor who showed me around and filled me in on campus
life and the city. WSU is a GREAT FIT for out-of-state students.
Why did you choose WSU?
It has one of the top aerospace engineering programs in the country and is located
in the heart of the aerospace industry, which makes getting practical experience that
much easier.
What’s great about being a Shocker?
We have the best student section in all college athletics and the best faculty and
staff. Also, there is no limit to what you can be involved in on campus.
The last thing I Googled: Puerto Rico
Favorite class: Mechanics of Materials
Campus squirrels are: Bold! They love to people watch.

Hometown: Fremont, NE
WSU interests: Student Ambassador Society, Sport Management Student Association, Shocker basketball and baseball
Is WSU a good fit for out-of-state students?
WSU is my second home. On my campus tour, I saw a warm, welcoming community, unlike
a lot of other colleges I visited. People legitimately enjoy being on campus and are
proud of being Shockers—and now I’m one of them.
What are the advantages of going to college in a large city?
WSU’s location provides endless opportunities to build your resume and get the professional
experience you’ll need after graduation. Combine that with a traditional college experience,
and you have the best four years of your life.
What’s the best thing about WSU campus life?
The sense of community and involvement around campus. I always feel like I have some
sort of connection with just about everybody.
Campus squirrels are: All fun and games until one laughs at you.
Best eats on campus: Chick-Fil-A, hands down.
Favorite class: Sport Psychology, or really any class taught by Mark Vermillion
