Lindquist Hall

Building Info

At six stories, Lindquist Hall is the tallest building on WSU's main campus. It was constructed in 1976 to address a pressing need for general-purpose office and classroom space. At the time of its construction, the departments of WSU’s Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences were scattered across campus. The new building was used to bring together many of those programs, and it began life as the Liberal Arts and Sciences Building. The building was officially re-named in 1992 to honor Emory and Irma Lindquist. Dr. Lindquist was a former dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences and president of the university from 1963 to 1968. Lindquist Hall houses the LAS dean's office as well as the departments of English, political science, sociology, women’s studies and religion, the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs, the School of Social Work and the School of Community Affairs.
