Sarah Smarsh grew up among the wheat and milo fields of Kingman County and has since become a freelance journalist reporting on socioeconomic class, politics and public policy for The New York Times, the New Yorker and other publications. The award-winning and best-selling book chronicles her turbulent childhood in rural Kansas. We’ll discuss the book, rural Kansas and what’s happening in Kansas through current events.
