This virtual course will provide students with an awareness of all aspects of systems and aircraft High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) testing. Topics will include the following:

  • Why HIRF is important
  • FAA/European requirements to demonstrate compliance
  • Equipment qualification
  • Aircraft certification and testing
  • Problems and Pitfalls
  • Design Issues
  • An overview of the design process and requirements in regard to lightning.
