Governor Laura Kelly will deliver the International Women's Day Keynote at the Diverse Women's Summit organized by the Department of Women's Studies.

The Diverse Women's Summit is designed to focus on women's roles, their implications for different women, the future of women and gender in their intersection with challenges from class/poverty, race/ethnicity, sexuality, disability, religion and other pyramids of power.

This year's summit will be virtual and the theme is "Women and Leadership in the time of COVID-19," because of the pandemic situation and the rise to prominence of women and other minority populations tackling the pandemic and its associated situations, as well as their high mortality rate during these times.

The summit is sponsored by the Department of Women Studies, Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the League of Women Voters of Kansas, which convenes individuals and groups from different backgrounds on local, regional and global diversity issues affecting women and gender. This event is free and open to the public.

The keynote speech will be livestreamed to Facebook and YouTube simultaneously.
