The Wichita State University Opera Theatre, under the direction of Professor Alan Held, will present its popular "Scenes and Songs" program.  In collaboration with pianist Bridget Hille, this annual semi-staged concert presents multiple opera selections in a condensed and entertaining performance featuring the students of the Opera Theater program.

Selections this year venture to the stage from across the vast opera canon including selections from "Rusalka," "Die Zauberflöte," "Lucia di Lammermoor," "Hänsel und Gretel," "The Mother of us All," "Manon," "Peter Grimes," "Die Walküre," and "La Clemenza di Tito."  This program has become one of the favorites of the opera season and provides a great introduction to those interested in music theater as well as to those who are longtime fans.
