Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Wichita State University School of Music Faculty Artist Series, featuring Professor of Trumpet, Dr. David Hunsicker. Dr. Hunsicker brings much expertise and skill to the stage, having performed symphonic, solo, and chamber music throughout his career. Currently the lead trumpet of the Wichita Symphony and the Lancaster Festival Orchestras, his stellar resume includes appearances with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony, and Sarasota Opera, among others.

Dr. Hunsicker has enthralled audiences as a soloist, performing Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano, Trumpet, and Strings, Haydn's Trumpet Concerto, and J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2. He has also had success in chamber music, most notably with the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings and as a founding member of the Great Lakes Brass Quintet. Aside from classical music, Dr. Hunsicker has shown his flexibility in commercial music and jazz by appearing in several national musicals and jazz ensembles.
