The Kansas Piano Trio has formed in 2017 by the members of professors from various Kansas universities. WSU’s own violin professor Dr. Betul Soykan is the co-founder along with cellist Ben Cline and pianist Dr. Brad Baker. The Kansas Piano Trio mainly concentrates in 20th-21st century piano trio and chamber repertoire. In this program, they will bring a diverse and energetic program to the Kansas audience, with the guest viola artist Dr. Lilian Green. Works of this performance consist compositions by Turina and Schnittke piano quartets, second half the great work of Rachmaninoff’s piano trio élégiaque, op. 9 written in memory of Tchaikovsky.
