Oklahoma is the setting for Prairie Fire, Michael Parker's seventh and latest novel. Parker is WSU's Visiting Dinstinguished Writer this spring. He has published fiction and nonfiction in some of the country's top literary journals and has won, amon many honors, a PEN/Hemingway Award for First Fiction, a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, and O. Henry Awads three times for his short stories.

Writing Now/Reading Now is cosponsored by the WSU Department of English, Fairmount College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Watermark Books & Café, and the Ulrich Museum of Art.
