Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) is an American-born Chinese professor coming up on her first anniversary with her boyfriend Nick Young (Henry Golding). When they travel to Singapore for a wedding, she learns that Nick is a part of one of Asia's wealthiest families, but his mother thinks that she is not worthy of her son.

Following the movie, there will be a discussion about the issues and topics the covered in the movie that affect our Asian and Asian American students at WSU facilitated by a panel of students from Asian interest organizations across campus.
