U.S. Senator Jerry Moran announced new funding in the amount of $3 million for Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research. The funding will allow the university to purchase advanced manufacturing resources including a 5x5x7 foot metallic 3D printer. This enhanced and increased additive manufacturing technology will advance the capabilities of Kansas manufacturers and help recruit and increase business in Kansas, while also increasing the value of education and applied learning opportunities for WSU students. The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
