Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) is strengthening its digital engineering and smart automation capabilities with the integration of Siemens Digital Industries Software’s Xcelerator portfolio at the Hub for Advanced Manufacturing and Research (HAMR).
The 170,000-square-foot HAMR facility brings together advanced materials, additive manufacturing, digital twin, factory automation, and precision machining, and leverages the comprehensive suite of Siemens digital tools to accelerate research, development and technology adoption.
Siemens Xcelerator is an open digital business platform where companies can find, try, and buy the technologies they need to run better. It brings together solutions from Siemens and certified partners in one marketplace to help solve industrial challenges.
In addition to Siemens hardware, software and digital services, the platform includes solutions from more than 700 certified partners and specialist providers. All marketplace offerings are vetted for interoperability, cybersecurity and quality standards, allowing customers to combine Siemens technologies with complementary third-party solutions in one curated environment.
Through Siemen’s Xcelerator, NIAR will:

- Streamline factory automation and production with cutting-edge engineering
