The Intro to Automated Fiber Placement Manufacturing (AFP) course offers knowledge into the world of AFP while providing hands-on experience with state-of-the-art Electroimpact AFP systems. At the end of this one-day course, you’ll even get to take home your very own AFP-manufactured sample. We can’t wait to introduce you to the world of Automated Fiber Placement!
What You Will Learn:
- Basics of the Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) Process
- Necessary information for a programmer to have quality AFP structures made
- Functions of the KR1000 Titan KUKA robot (KUKA’s largest robot arm in production)
- AFP layup process from preparation to finished part removal
- Lab safety features and protocols
You will also:
- Work with one of only 47 operational Electroimpact AFP systems in the world
- See live demonstrations of robotic AFP head maintenance and assembly
- Work hands-on with the post-layup inspection process, mock panel repair, and thermoset and thermoplastic materials

Free cancellation until three days (Sept. 14, 2025/Feb. 1, 2026) before the class begins. Cancellation requests after
deadline will receive a 50% refund. Cancellation requests occurring the day of the
class or later are not eligible for refund.
