Santiago Diaz graduated in December 2023 with a degree in Computer Engineering and now works as a Software Engineer II at Walmart Global Tech in Bentonville, Arkansas. In his current role, Santiago builds internal tools that help Walmart merchants place the right items in the right stores at the right time across the U.S. His team supports dozens of web applications, primarily using React and Angular, and manages data tied to millions of items across more than 4,000 stores nationwide.

Before joining Walmart, Santiago gained hands-on experience at Ennovar as a Software Engineer with a frontend focus. His experience played a key role in preparing him for industry work.

“Building at Ennovar provided a great jumping pad for me to start my Software Engineering journey,” Santiago shared. He also appreciated the flexibility and collaborative environment, noting that it gave him space to grow both technically and professionally. “It allowed me to work on my collaboration skills and technical skills with other students.”

One of the things Santiago valued most about Ennovar was the culture. “I always felt that my opinions mattered, and that everyone had a seat at the table when it came to projects,” he said. That sense of inclusion and shared ownership made the work meaningful and helped build confidence early in his career.

Outside of work, Santiago is an avid gamer and enjoys learning and building new things, especially coding projects. For current Ennovar students, his advice is: "be open to feedback, ask questions, and invest in soft skills." He emphasized that communication and collaboration go a long way, especially in team-based environments like Ennovar.
