Binh Lam, a Cybersecurity major set to graduate in December 2028, recently transitioned from Ennovar into a role at NetApp, where he performs software and security testing for E-Series products and firmware. His work includes creating testing environments, conducting stress and security testing, writing Python and Bash scripts for automation, and working alongside developers to identify and resolve issues. Reflecting on his experience, Binh credits Ennovar with transforming his college journey. "Ennovar has completely changed my experience at Wichita State University," he shares. Coming to Wichita without any prior connection to the city, Binh wasn't sure what opportunities would be available.

Through Ennovar, he was able to gain hands-on experience and land a position with a leading technology company. "I have the chance to work at a tech giant like NetApp, with almost nothing on my resume. I have always thought that with the current job market, it is almost impossible for a student with no connection to get an internship, and Ennovar has proved me wrong."

Interestingly, Cybersecurity was not Binh's original plan. He initially came to Wichita State to study Aerospace before a conversation with Cybersecurity Department Chair Joe Jabara changed his direction. "He saw the potential in me through my projects, my knowledge, and my passion for computers, so he thought I would be a great fit. Time has proven that Joe was completely right." Since then, Binh has found a passion for cybersecurity and has enjoyed both his coursework and opportunities such as the National Cyber League. Binh has no shortage of goals for the future. He plans to earn his Security+ certification, pursue undergraduate cybersecurity research, continue expanding his home lab, and explore his growing interest in motorcycling.

Outside of technology, Binh enjoys collecting knives, playing guitar, thrifting, and exploring the world of high-quality audio. His passion for sound has even led to a side role as a self-described "Audio Engineer" for his church. Whether he's building out his homelab, learning new technologies, or pursuing new hobbies, Binh is always looking for ways to challenge himself and continue growing.
