Bethany Johnson is a Mechanical Engineering student expected to graduate in 2028 and is currently working as an Assistant Aircraft Certification Engineer at 3S Engineering through Ennovar. In her role, she supports several certification projects by drafting and reviewing documentation used to develop STCs for clients. Her work gives her direct exposure to the process of ensuring aircraft systems meet strict safety and operational standards. Through Ennovar, Bethany has been able to grow both technically and professionally. “I have gotten the opportunity to expand my industry knowledge significantly through working and communicating with engineers of all experience levels,” she shared.

Working directly with experienced engineers has helped her better understand the industry while building confidence in her own abilities. Her interest in engineering started with a fascination for aircraft and how they function. “I have always been fascinated by aircraft and how they are designed,” Bethany said. “It is awesome to see this aspect of how much work really goes into ensuring that our air transportation is safe and efficient.” That passion continues to shape her academic path and future career goals.

Looking ahead, Bethany plans to keep working closely with 3S Engineering and continue building experience in certification so she can eventually manage her own certification projects within the company. One of her favorite parts about Ennovar is the chance to keep learning. “I love learning new things every day. It keeps my mind sharp and helps me with my future career,” she said. Outside of work and school, Bethany enjoys outdoor sports like dirt bike racing and skateboarding, and she often commutes to work and class on her sport bike. She also serves as the Electrical Lead Engineer for Wichita State’s Formula SAE team, where she designs and manufactures electrical systems for their competition car.
