Grace is a transfer student from Johnson County Community College. She is a native of Wichita and attended East High School. She has 5+ years of experience in early childcare, ages 6 months to 6 years. Originally planning to go into nursing and health care, a business ethics course convinced her to change her focus. Her passions in high school included Choir, Theatre, and Yearbook, serving as editor her senior year. She held several leadership roles in student organizations. Grace is passionate about helping the homeless community in Wichita. Grace and her father do annual lunches for the and collect donations to purchase blankets, food, water, sanitary products, and other necessities. Grace also volunteers at animal shelters to help pets find homes. Her favorite volunteer work directly affects people and makes their lives easier.
The Widener Global Leaders Program interested her because of how connected and involved it seems. Giving young women a voice to lead and learn is always the right step in Grace’s book. Additionally, the three main focuses of Widener-GLP happen to be what Grace was most involved in during high school.
Grace wants to be involved with the community and companies that make real changes in the world. Following her experience with Compost Collective KC, she knows that positive change in the business world can be embraced. Whether it is helping those in need, focusing on environmental impact, or helping people whose voices need to be heard, she prefers to intern for an organization where positive change is a priority.
