Amarylis’s involvement at Wichita State includes serving as assistant director of marketing with the Barton International Group,  merchandise chair of WSU’s Gamma Phi Beta, director of digital media for WSU’s Green Group. She believes that both art and science are essential and important to appreciate. Amarylis identifies as a Hmong American and was raised by immigrant parents. She tries to stay current on world news and expand her creative mind through creative explorations and journaling. Amarylis wants to change the world by caring for people and the earth, little by little.   Her passions about helping people in any sort of way, whether it being listening to them, motivating them, or connecting people to resources they didn’t know about drives her. Amarylis capitalizes on her passions through volunteer work involving environmental improvements and mentoring children through her church and area schools. She has worked with middle and high school students exploring STEM fields.

Amarylis resonates with the Widener-GLP’s goals to build well-rounded leaders. She believes leaders with experience in more than one area are the strongest.  

Amarylis’s dream job is to utilize her expert skills to assist in the creation of start-up businesses and help small businesses. She seeks an internship that revolves around UX Design or is related to design/creativity in a business. Organizations that promote environmental awareness most pique her interest.
