Overview
Maria Romero is a Senior Marketing major with a minor in Communication and Management. She was born and raised in Madrid, Spain. She started competing in Track & Field when she was 8 years old. In 2017, she came to Wichita State University to continue her academic career and represent the WSU Track & Field team. After taking Public Speaking courses, she fell in love with the world of Communication and decided to focus her career on PR, social media, and event planning.
Maria has been awarded the W. Frank Barton School of Business Dean’s Honor Roll, Fall and Spring Athletic Director Honor Roll, and Academic All-Conference honors for 4 years consecutively. She has served as a Marketing intern for AGM in a research project about NCAA new legislation. Currently, she serves as a Student Assistant for Widener Global Leaders Program.
She considers herself an adventurous and passionate person who loves challenges and learning. Traveling, her favorite hobby, has widened her perspective of the world and taught her many valuable life lessons.
