Overview

Maryland National Guard Maj. Gen. (retired) Linda Singh, Ph.D, is founder and CEO for Kaleidoscope Affect LLC,providing leadership and management consulting and strategic advisory services for a variety of public and private sector clients. She also serves as the inaugural Leader-in-Residence for Towson University. She waspreviously interim executive director and chief executive of TEDCO, focused on investing and helping earlystage technology and life sciences companies fuel economic development and growth.

Singh’s consulting and systems integration accomplishments span three decades, with senior executive level positions inthe public and private sector — including health, defense, state and local government. She personally mentors, coachesand speaks on leadership, diversity, adversity, career transition and issues that plague women and veterans in the workplace. Signh is among the distinguished women leaders serving on the advisory board for the Widener Global Leaders Program at Wichita State University’s W. Frank Barton School of Business. She is an International Women’s Forum fellow and member of the Washington, D.C. chapter.

Singh’s path to global leadership was achieved despite poverty, a difficult childhood and sexual trauma. She credits her teenage decision to join the National Guard as a life changer, retiring 38 years later as a two-star general — and the first woman and the first Black adjutant general for the Maryland National Guard. Along the way, Singh pursued a simultaneous civilian career at multinational Accenture, ultimately as managing director for its North America Health and Public Service.

 Singh serves on the board of directors for Howard Bancorp, Easterseals DC MD VA, and Headstrong, on the advisory boards of Vital Guidance and the Cybersecurity Forum Initiative, and on numerous committees. She is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and was inducted into the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame in 2015. Singh has been featured on the Today Show for her all-female National Guard leadership team.

She holds a doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology (Capella University), MBA (Touro International University), Master of Strategic Studies (Army War College), and bachelor’s in business (Columbia Union College).

She is a certified project management professional, professional certified coach, Gallup Strengths Coach and John Maxwell certified trainer and speaker. Other awards include Diversity MBA magazine’s “Top 100 under 50 Diverse Emerging Leaders,” the Network Journal’s “25 Influential Black Women in Business,” and InStyle’s “Badass 50.”
