Victoria Bochniak

Overview

Victoria Bochniak is a community-based anthropologist and archaeologist. She received her MA in anthropology from University of Idaho and is a PhD candidate in anthropology at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research focuses on shared Indigenous-colonial spaces in the 19^th century. She is dedicated to collaborating with Native American communities to reevaluate archaeological collections and past interpretations to ensure their perspectives and voices are central to understanding of these sites. She has over 15 years of experience collaborating with Native American Tribes on archaeological and oral history projects; with the most time spent with the Apsáalooke (Crow Tribe) of Montana.
