Overview

Angela Scott is an Academic Advisor in the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts (LAS) & Sciences Advising Center at Wichita State University. She advises all majors within LAS with particular interest supporting students across colleges make critical decisions regarding major, career and next steps. 

Angela believes student success is sustained through deeper self-awareness and meaningful community relationships.  As certified Academic Life Coach (ACC) and certified True Colors Facilitator, she cultivates and maintains affirming spaces for students: to question and explore, gain empowering perspectives; build confidence in choice, direction, and decision-making; identify and accomplish goals.

Angela is motivated by a desire to promote creative and adaptive responses to the many stressors and challenges students experience.  Her personal and professional advising philosophy is inspired by a desire to reflect and reciprocate the goodness in humanity: Ubuntu!

2021 Student Governement Association Academic Advisor of the Year. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge and recognize a Wichita State University academic advisor who has demonstrated the qualities representative of outstanding student advising. 

2021 the TRIO Disability Support Services Lighthouse Award.  This award is given to a WSU staff member who collaborates with our program and supports our students.
