Overview
Whether in an international broadcast environment in a foreign country, a hybrid TV studio/post-production house, a virtual reality film development team, a well-equipped recording studio, a 9.1.4 theater, a 15.1.6 soundstage, or in a classroom, Marshall Young looks to conquer technical challenges and teach people around him. As of January 2026, he has mixed and/or recorded over 1130 Front of House events, over 910 live broadcasts/streams, four albums, and his work has been heard on several television channels and in seven different film festivals.
Young earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communication at Asbury University, where he got Steadicam certified, began recording music, and started mixing live events. He earned a Master of Fine Arts in Sound Design at Savannah College of Art and Design where he led the audio team on Say it with Music, the first musical written for virtual reality and one of the first virtual reality films to utilize immersive audio. His thesis explored the physiological effects of infrasound (sound too low in pitch to hear) and its application in film audio.
