Overview
Suman Bhandary is a typeface designer, Typographer and Font Developer who graduated with a MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, UK and a recipient of the prestigious Charles Wallace Scholarship. He has contributed as a Principal Designer of the font Mina and Alkatra published by Google Fonts and was featured by Google Design in 2017. He specializes in working primarily with typeface design briefs for North-Indian and Latin scripts (writing systems), its process and production for the design.
Through his previous academic roles in multiple Design Schools, there has been a major focus in knowledge transfer projects through graphic design thinking and to integrate research into practice through the projects initiated by the students. He is also keen to develop tools for education related to typography and graphic communication.
Suman is dedicated to contribute towards academic research based on typography and typeface design primarily onIndian scripts and undertaking revival projects related to typeface design.
