Overview

Joel is currently an adjunct instructor of theory at Wichita State University. He received his BA in K-12 Music Education from Bethel College in 2014 and an MM in Jazz Saxophone and Contemporary Media in 2016 from the Eastman School of Music. Recently, Joel received a grant to study composition with Dave Rivello of Eastman.  Joel teaches privately in Wichita and performs in the south-central Kansas area as a freelance musician and multiple woodwind player with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Music Theater of Wichita, and NewSpring Church He has been a guest clinician and soloist at various middle, high school, and colleges in various states. Joel has shared the stage with many highly regarded musicians, highlights include Johnny Mathis, Charles Pillow, Rich Perry, Conrad Herwing, Bob Mintzer,  and Jim McNeely. His compositions and arrangements have been performed at the Eastman School of Music and at Wichita State University.
