Overview
Susan Butler, a native Wichitan, is Global Head Corporate Development and Strategy at Astrix Technology Group where she is responsible for establishing strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions and business strategy. Susan joined Astrix when the company she co-founded was acquired by Astrix. She initially served as Vice President, Strategic Consulting Services before moving into Corporate Development and Strategy for the company.
In 2003, Susan co-founded ResultWorks, a technology and management consulting company specializing in helping Life Sciences companies with digital transformation strategies, optimizing technical ecosystems and operationalizing strategies into successful technology and business initiatives. Engagements and strategies driven by ResultWorks spanned Lab Informatics, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, and Regulatory and other areas across Life Sciences Research and Development.
Leveraging over 40 years of management, strategy, business analysis, process optimization, and consulting expertise in the biopharmaceutical industry, Susan is a Life Sciences and technology executive with extensive experience building, growing and leading technology enablement and management practices and capabilities. She has extensive experience in the Life Sciences R&D domain, digital transformation strategies, organizational change management, business process optimization, and portfolio, program and project management. Susan is a creative strategist and visionary with strong business acumen, EQ, design thinking, analytic and critical thinking skills. She has worked across Life Sciences R&D to translate ambiguous and complex needs into actionable plans and results and uses her facilitation and communication skills across all levels of organizations and multi-disciplinary groups to build alignment and commitment to the operationalization of strategies.
Prior to ResultWorks, Ms. Butler was Vice President of Global Professional Services at SciQuest and worked at IBM Global Services where she ran the National Project Management Practice and the division’s project management office (PMO) supporting seven hundred project managers across the United States. Throughout her career Ms. Butler has led and provided oversight to complex technical, organizational, process, and change initiatives.
Susan was born and raised in Wichita and has maintained involvement with Wichita State University and is a frequent visitor to Kansas. She currently resides in the Philadelphia and Scottsdale areas with her significant other, Michael Shirk. She also spends time with their blended family of four children, spouses, and two (soon to be three) grandchildren.
