Freshman: Paul was able to secure a spot on the select team after completing the tryout process. For the season, he had one Top 10 finish which was at the Mid States Championships where he placed 6th with a 208 average for a total of 5 games. His season average was a 210 for 14 games.
Before WSU: Before Wichita State, Richard was able to bowl a 300 game at the Junior Team USA Trials and later secured his spot on the team for 2017. He had been awarded 2 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, and 1 Bronze Medal at the Tournament of Americas. For the U15B division at Junior Gold, he was able to finish in the Top 5. He was also able to capture a 1st place finish at the JBT Tournament of Champions.
Personal: Son of Mindy Carlton and Richard Paul Jr, Richard was born March 25, 2001. He is an only child born and raised by a military family. He is majoring in Business here at Wichita State University. Richard has bowled four 300’s including one at the Team USA Trials. His highest series is a 789.
