Freshman: After his first year of tryouts, Sorge made the developmental team and continued to put in work and learn more about the sport through the program.
Junior: Sorge was on the select team for his junior year after tryouts, gaining knowledge and some tournament experience. He was able to end the season with an average of 193 for 19 games.
Senior: For his third year bowling for Wichita State, Sorge had made the selected team through the grueling process of tryouts. He was able to secure his first All Tournament Team placement by taking 1st at the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge averaging 226 for 6 games. He also placed in the Top 25 at SWIBC II finishing in 15th with a 184 average for 7 games. His season average was 195 for 21 games.
Grad: As a graduate student, he was preselected for the men’s team, bringing in his gained knowledge and experience over the past years. Sorge ended the season with a 185 for 10 games.
Before WSU: Before coming to Wichita State, Sorge had become the 2018 Swiss Trios Champion. He also secured a second place finish at the JOMA Challenge in 2018 as well as a 6th place finish at the Southwest Doubles Tournament. In 2019, Sorge placed 4th at the BEST Tournament.
Personal: Son of Joseph and Janice Sorge, Alex was born on January 26, 1998. He is a graduate student majoring in Sport Management.
