Overview

Trang Tieu is the manager of student impact for the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships at Wichita State University. She graduated from Wichita State University as a first-generation college student with a Master's degree in Educational Psychology - Higher Education/Student Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Trang is passionate about representing the APIDA community in education and supporting the needs of diverse and underrepresented populations. She began her professional journey teaching in USD259 at a Title 1 school, but stayed connected with Wichita State University as an alum. From there, she continued to follow her path towards a degree in higher education. Creating spaces for students to learn, express themselves freely, and find confidence in their identity is at the heart of all her work as an educator.

Outside of Wichita State University, Trang is involved with Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority, Inc., the National APIDA Panhellenic Association, and NASPA. She enjoys being a mentor and giving back to the community, especially through organizations like ICT SOS and Girls on the Run. She also loves being a big foodie, plant-lover, traveler, and a dog mom of two adorable poodle mixes.

Favorite Place on Campus

My favorite place on campus would have to be on the balcony of the Rhatigan Student Center. Finding a moment to pause and take in the beauty of Wichita State University helps me feel at peace.
