Michelle Geesaman

Overview

Michelle Geesaman is a Social Services Case Manager & Advocate within Student Outreach & Support at Wichita State University. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 2002 with a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Michelle is passionate about supporting students as they grow, heal, and navigate challenges in all areas of their lives.

Michelle’s professional background spans multiple states and a wide range of student‑ and family‑centered services. Her experience includes case management, advocacy, and direct support for university students. She has worked with children in the Kansas foster care system and served at a voluntarily placed children’s home in Texas. In Louisiana, she supported children and adults accessing waiver programs as a Support Coordinator.

Her commitment to student development also includes extensive involvement in higher education communities. Michelle served as a Resident Assistant at the University of Kansas and later worked on staff with a student organization, supporting students at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Georgia Southern University, Louisiana State University, and the University of Guanajuato in Guanajuato, México.

Michelle is excited to serve on the CARE Team at Wichita State University, where she brings together her case management expertise and her passion for student advocacy to help students thrive.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys traveling, learning about and experiencing other cultures, and spending time with family and friends.
