Overview
Why did you choose WSU?
Out of the few options I had, I thought it would be really cool to earn an aerospace
engineering degree in the Air Capital of the World. Wichita State also has a strong
engineering program and was affordable, which made the decision even better.
Why did you want to be a Transition Mentor?
When I was a freshman, I had only been in the U.S. for three days — new country, new
campus, new everything. Orientation was the first time I actually felt welcomed, and
meeting the College of Engineering Transition Mentors made me feel like I belonged.
I didn’t have the confidence to apply back then, but over the past two years I realized
I wanted to be that friendly face and “big sister” for someone else.
