Overview
Ana Jara is originally from Paraguay and serves as the Academic Advisor and Study
Skills Coordinator for TRIO Student Support Services STEM at Wichita State University.
In this role, she has the privilege of supporting students as they navigate their
college experience, strengthen their academic skills, and work toward achieving their
educational and career goals.
Ana holds a bachelor's degree in International Affairs and a Master of Arts in Spanish.
Her academic background, combined with her experience in education and student support,
has fueled her passion for helping students from diverse backgrounds access opportunities
and succeed in higher education. Having experienced the challenges of adapting to
a new culture and educational system, she values creating an environment where students
feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed.
She is also passionate about languages and enjoys using her language skills to help
others whenever possible. Ana has a particular interest in interpretation as a way
to bridge communication and cultural gaps, and she enjoys teaching Spanish and sharing
her culture with others.
Outside of work, Ana enjoys baking, staying active, spending time with family and
friends, and continually learning new skills. She is excited to be part of the TRIO
community and looks forward to supporting students as they grow academically, personally,
and professionally.
