Bio
Allie Paulsen serves as the Athletic Engagement Director for the 69th Session of the Student Government Association. Director Paulsen joined SGA because she wants to help create a stronger sense of community between Wichita State Athletics, the student body, and the university as a whole. Through her involvement in athletics these last three years, she has seen how much energy and pride students can bring to campus when they feel connected to what is happening around them, and wants to help create more opportunities for that connection. Director Paulsen believes athletics can be a powerful way to bring students together, but that engagement should extend beyond the stands and into the larger campus experience. She is passionate about bringing different groups together, whether that is student-athletes, Greek organizations, student clubs, or students who may not traditionally be involved in campus activities. Director Paulsen aims to help capitalize on Shocker Spirit, create more opportunities for students to participate in campus traditions and events, and ultimately make Wichita State feel like a community that students are proud to be a part of.
Goal
Director Paulsen's main goals for the 69th Session are to:
- Increase student engagement and reach.
- Capitalize on Shocker Spirit.
- Increase student pride at Wichita State.
- Develop individualized events supporting each sport team and season.
- Strengthen collaboration between Athletics and campus organizations.
