Bio
Andrew Beam is the Deputy Speaker of the Student Senate, and the Senate Affairs and
Operations Chairperson and an Honors Senator for the 69th Session. Chairperson Beam
joined SGA as an Engineering Senator last session because he noticed a communication
gap between Students, Faculty and Staff in the college of Engineering, and wanted
to come up with ways to close that gap. This led to working with other Engineering
Students and Staff to bring back the Engineering Council. He now serves as the Student
Government Association Representative and the Treasurer for that council.
Goal
Chairperson Beam's main goals this session includes scheduling productive workshops
during the committee of the whole sessions (the meeting before senate) so that Senators
are prepared for their role, scheduling events for Senators that will allow them to
connect with other members of the Association and with each other and finally coming
up with ways for Senators to build closer relationships with their constituents.
Fun Fact
Outside of class Beam enjoys going to the movies and playing pickleball.
