WSU Alum to Speak About Work on Apollo and Skylab Programs

WSU Physics Alum Ron Barnes will give a lecture in the Physics Seminar series entitled "From WSU to NASA, Working on Apollo, Skylab and the Space Shuttle Programs."  His talk will discuss his work ont he early NASA Apollo project including the Apollo 13 failure evaluation, and the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster evaluation.

Ron was principal design engineer on the Space Station Freedom and an inventor of water purification systems for space travel mission. In addition to application in space these water purification systems are essential to remote cities and islands around the Earth and have direct application to future Mars colonies. During his seminar he will relate the challenges of his lifelong career contributing to the USA success in the space race.

The talk is scheduled for Monday, April 29th, at 2:00 pm in 128 Jabara Hall.
