Dell Scholars: Michael & Susan Dell Foundation | Due December 1, 2024

Dell Scholars are driven, tenacious, and ambitious students who are committed to achieving their college education despite challenges. Each year, the program selects 500 students nationwide, providing them with comprehensive support and scholarships to help them build their ideal pathway to graduation and beyond.

Criteria 

  • Participate in a program-approved college readiness program in grades 11 and 12. (Upward Bound Wichita Prep) 
  • Be on track to graduate from an accredited high school in the current academic year
  • Demonstrate a need for financial assistance
  • Be eligible to receive a federal Pell Grant in first year of college
  • Plan to enroll full time at an accredited higher education institution in the pursuit of a bachelor's degree in the fall directly following high school graduation
  • Earn a minimum of a 2.4 GPA’

Rudd Foundation Scholarship | December 1st

The Rudd Scholarship is a competitive four-year award that covers any remaining costs associated with tuition and fees, books and supplies, and room and board after accounting for other grants, scholarships, and financial aid.

Eligibility

  • Graduating high school senior who plans to enroll full-time in the fall.
  • Must have a cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Must have taken the ACT or SAT and submit the score to apply.
  • Must be a Kansas resident and qualify for in-state tuition.
  • Demonstrate financial need (Pell-eligible).
  • Will attend either Emporia State, Fort Hays State, Kansas State, or Wichita State Universities.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident.

Wichita State's Shocker Promise

The Shocker Promise Scholarships provide last-dollar funding to high school graduates from Kansas. See below for program details and deadlines. 

  • Admitted high school students who qualify by the March 1 admissions date and April 1 FAFSA completion date.

  • Be a Sedgwick County, Kansas resident at the time of application to Wichita State University.

  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.

  • Be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant*.

  • Annual family income of $50,000 or less and total assets of $50,000 or less.**

  • FAFSA Student Aid Index of 7,395 or less.

  • Be admitted for fall as a first-time freshman by March 1, 2025 (graduated high school during 2024-2025 academic year).

  • Complete the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 1, 2025 for priority consideration.

  • Minimum 2.5 unweighted high school GPA.

  • Enroll full-time (complete 24 hours each academic year in the fall/spring/summer semesters) in a baccalaureate degree program beginning in fall 2025.

How do I apply? 

Students are automatically considered if WSU has admitted them by March 1 and received their FAFSA by April 1, and they meet the eligibility requirements.

 

Schmidt Foundation Scholars | Opens September 15, 2024 & Closes February 15, 2025.

The Schmidt Foundation Scholars scholarship is a $16,000 award made possible through the generous gifts of the Schmidt Foundation. This amount includes 30 hours of tuition and fees for fall and spring courses, books, and room and board. This scholarship aims to support FHSU students, with preference given to students from Kansas and first-generation college students. Recipients have the opportunity to renew their scholarship for up to three additional years if eligibility requirements continue to be met. Each year, five future FHSU students from the incoming freshman class will have the opportunity to receive this prestigious scholarship and join the respected community of Schmidt Foundation Scholars.

Recipients must:

  • Be admitted to FHSU.
  • Be a full-time, on-campus undergraduate student during the 2025-2026 academic year.
  • Reside in double room occupancy in the Residence Hall all four years.
  • Be in good legal and community standing.
  • Attend a once-per-semester dinner with the Schmidt Foundation and FHSU leadership, which will provide networking opportunities for the recipient, as well as additional gatherings that may be planned.
  • Participate in a mentorship program.

To renew their scholarship, Schmidt Foundation Scholars must:

  • Maintain a 3.25 GPA per semester for automatic renewal.
  • Maintain full-time, on-campus student status.
  • Remain in good legal and community standing.
  • Continue participation in a mentorship program.

 

The application for freshmen starting in the fall of 2025 will be open from midnight on September 15, 2024 to midnight on February 15, 2025. Applications will be reviewed by a joint committee from the Schmidt Foundation and FHSU. When finalists are selected, they will be invited to participate in a Zoom interview with the scholarship committee. Next, the finalist’s two personal references will be contacted so the scholarship committee can gain insight into the finalist’s character and how likely they are to fit into the scholarship program. Award announcements will be made shortly thereafter.

 

The Coolodge | Application Deadline – Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time

Eligibility

To apply for the 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Enrollment Intent: Applicants must intend to enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university as an undergraduate for the first time in fall 2026. This includes high school juniors or equivalent students, including those who are home-schooled. Students currently taking courses at a local college are also eligible.
  2. Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States by the scholarship deadline.
  3. Family Restrictions: Applicants cannot be immediate family members of any current employee, trustee, or significant donor (defined as someone with lifetime giving exceeding $25,000) to the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation or the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Fund.

Timelines 

  • Application Launch: The 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship is now live and accepting applications! 
  • Application Deadline: All application materials, including letters of reference, must be submitted by Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 5:00 PM Pacific Time. Please make sure to note the timezone.
  • Notification Timeline: By Summer 2025, all applicants will be notified of their outcomes. You can check your status by logging into your application portal. Finalists will be contacted directly by phone and invited to attend the Finalist Interview Weekend in Woodstock and Plymouth Notch, Vermont. The Coolidge Foundation will cover travel and lodging costs for finalists and one parent.

 

Engebretson Foundation | Deadline March 1st 

The Engebretson Foundation is in the process of seeking a high school senior to receive a one-year $10,000.00 per semester scholarship.

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a graduating senior from a United States high school.
  • Plan to attend a four year college.
  • Be in need of financial assistance in order to attend a four year college.
  • Have achieved a score of 28 composite or higher on the ACT exam (or at least 1240 on the SAT).
  • Have achieved at least a 3.75 GPA or above and/or top 5% of graduating class.
  • Have applied for federal financial aid and have already received back the Student Aid Report that contains your Expected Family Contribution (EFC); see Filing for FAFSA.

Wichita Foundation | Closes March 31, 2024

Wichita Foundation donors believe in the importance of investing in the next generation. Our scholarships were established at the Wichita Foundation through the generosity of our fund holders. These gifts provide financial assistance for students attending accredited colleges, universities and technical schools. 


Apply for a Scholarship
Each scholarship has varying criteria and award eligibility. We know that pursuing higher education can be hectic, which is why we’ve streamlined our scholarships into one application.

The Wichita Foundation has multiple scholarship available to you, please make sure you look through them all.

The Hagan Scholarship | Deadline December 1, 2024.  

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients “regardless of nationality” with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the United States. Eligible high schools include public, private, charter, magnet, and STEM schools. The Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2023 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Hagan Scholars have attended 637 colleges and universities located in 49 states and the District of Columbia.

Hagan Scholars who graduate college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional semesters in college receiving up to $7,500 each semester.

 

 

 Future YOU | Closed

NEW to WSU Tech is a first-time freshman scholarship called, Future You. This two-year scholarship is designed for graduating seniors who plan to attend WSU Tech this Fall. Recipients of the scholarship will receive $600 each year that will renew for up to two years to be used towards technical education or general education classes.

 

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

  • Applicants for the Future You scholarship must be a 2024 high school graduate.

  • The Future You scholarship is $600 per year ($300 per semester) that can be applied to tuition and fees for technical education AND general education courses for the Fall and Spring semesters. 

  • The Future You scholarship is automatically renewable for up to two years for students who are awarded and meet the scholarship criteria.

  • Students are required to be enrolled in a full-time (12 credit hours) schedule and begin classes in the Fall 2024 semester.

  • Students must submit an official high school transcript with graduation date listed and have a cumulative 2.75 GPA on their high school transcript.

  • No ACT/SAT scores or FAFSA application are required to receive the scholarship.

  • Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher and be in good standing while in the Future You scholarship program.

  • Textbooks and inclusive access fees are not covered and maybe an additional expense.

  • The Future You scholarship is stackable with other scholarships and is applied prior to any financial aid.

  • This promotion is redeemable only at WSU Tech, not Wichita State University or any other college or university.

  • The Future You scholarship application is only available for the 2024 Fall semester.

  • Participation is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to those who meet the eligibility requirements.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship | CLOSED
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 36th class in 2024, the Foundation has provided over 6,900 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $84 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Eligibility Requirements For the 2025 Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship, applicants must be: Currently enrolled high school/home-schooled students attending school in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or select DoD schools who will graduate high school during the 2024-2025 academic school year (students graduating from an American or expat school abroad are not eligible for this award; individuals who have already graduated from high school are not eligible) U.S. Citizens, U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Parolees - based on the guidelines utilized by U.S. Department of Education for Federal Financial Aid eligibility Expecting to receive high school diploma during current academic year Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution Able to verify a minimum overall B/3.0 GPA in high school coursework Applicants may not be: Children or grandchildren of current employees, officers, or owners of Coca-Cola bottling companies, The Coca-Cola Company, Company divisions, or subsidiaries.
