Programs

Pre-College Programs

Pre-College Programs prepare participants to complete HS diploma or a GED and enter college. The OSP operates nine pre-college programs that include UBWP, UBMS, UBE, TS, EOC, VUB, KKGU, and Haysville GU programs. Check the following links for more information on the programs.

College-Based Programs

College-Based Programs support eligible students who are already in college (Wichita State) with aademic support and resources. The OSP operates three college-based programs that inlcude DSS, SSS and the McNair program. Check the folloiwng links for more information on the programs.

GEAR UP Programs

GEAR UP programs are designed to serve special populations from middle and high schools to finish a HS diploma and enter college. The OSP operates two GEAR UP programs: the state-wide Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP, and the Haysville GEAR UP program. Check the folloiwng links for more information on the programs.

TRIO Programs

TRIO programs are federally funded educational programs that serve a wide range of participants. The OSP operates nine TRIO programs that inlcude UBWP, UBMS, UBE, TS, EOC, VUB. DSS, SSS and the McNair Scholars Program. Check the folloiwng links for more information on the programs.

 

 

College-Based Programs

TRIO Disability Support Services (DSS) assists first-generation and/or limited income undergraduate students  at Wichita State University who have learning, physical, and psychological disabilities.

McNair Logo

The McNair Scholars Program is is designed to assist eligible students from Wichita State University in preparation for graduate education, specifically doctoral studies.  

SSS Logo

Student Support Services (SSS) a federally funded program that provides services to students from first generation and limited income backgrounds as well as students with disabilities.

Haysville GEAR UP Logo
Haysville GEAR UP aims to expand the college-going culture in Haysville School District (USD 261).
Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP Logo
Wichita State University’s Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a college access program that is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Education designed to help students in foster care prepare for post-secondary education.

TRIO Programs

TRIO Talent Search Logo

TRIO Talent Search at Wichita State University is a federally funded program designed to prepare and motivate middle school and high school students from USD 259 for postsecondary education.

Upward Bound Empowerment Logo

TRIO Upward Bound Empowerment assists high school students from limited-income backgrounds who are first generation, limited income, and foster care students in USD 259 with academic potential but who may have inadequate secondary school preparation.

Upward Bound Math Science Logo

The TRIO Upward Bound Math Science Center (UBMS) is a federally funded program hosted by Wichita State University that prepares low-income and first-generation high school students from Kansas to pursue degrees and careers in math and science.

Upward Bound Wichita Prep Logo

Upward Bound Wichita Prep provides limited-income and potential first-generation college students from USD 259 with the opportunity to improve their academic, social and personal skills while preparing for a post-secondary education.

 

TRIO Pre College Programs for Adults and Veterans

EOC Logo

The EOC is a federally funded program hosted by WSU that provides free counseling and assistance to adults from Sedgwick and Butler counties ready to begin or resume the journey toward their educational goals -- whether that's a four-year college degree, an associate's degree or technical training to enhance your career.

VUB Logo

Wichita State University Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is a an educational and skills program designed to meet the educational needs of veterans from Butler, Harvey, Kingman, Sumner and Sedgwick counties. VUB's goal is to prepare veterans for post-secondary education, regardless of desired institution.
