About

The MKN Pre-College and College Student Leadership annual Conference aims at Leadership Development and capacity building for TRIO and GEAR UP Students from the regions. The ultimate mission is ensuring post secondary access and success.

Our goal is to help students have positive experiences with others – to see that their programs are part of something bigger, to help students make connections with other TRIO, GEAR UP, and EOP students.

The conference is centered around leadership development, career readiness/exploration, and self-development. Sessions also include keynote speakers and student networking with area colleges and universities. Activities include campus tours and C’Amazing Race.

Sessions cover a wide variety of timely topics in a variety of formats that include an invited keynote and individual presentations. It is a valuable time to connect with others around the chapters state and to network with others. A dinner and social time offer additional opportunities for more informal interactions.

TRIO and GEAR UP programs within the 3-state region are encouraged to participate.

Meals

Conference attendees should plan to have lunch prior to arriving at the conference on Friday, September 9th. Dinner will be provided for those RSVP'd during the registration process at the Shocker Dinning. Saturday, lunch, and dinner will be provided for all conference attendees. Sunday, breakfast will be provided for those staying at the conference hotel. Local participants will be on their own unless otherwise stated. 

Provided Meals:
Friday, September 9 – Dinner at Shocker Dinning from 5:00 – 6:30 pm
Saturday, September 10 – Lunch and Dinner and light Snacks as scheduled.
Sunday, September 11 – No meals.
